Colorado Springs Utilities and the City of Colorado Springs are partnering on infrastructure improvements along Garden of the Gods Road, Mesa Road and 30th Street. Utility infrastructure improvements and paving/resurfacing work begins mid-August 2019 and continues through Spring 2020.
Additionally, the planned widening of 30th Street, between Mesa Road and Fontanero Street, along with the installation of a roundabout at Gateway Road, is currently in design with a public meeting anticipated this fall. The utility and resurfacing work is in advance of the widening project. Construction of the widening project is anticipated to begin spring 2020 and be completed by Fall 2021.
Both City Public Works and Colorado Springs Utilities will be doing intermittent work along Garden of the Gods Road, Mesa Road and 30th Street. If you need special access due to construction and traffic impacts, please coordinate with the numbers listed in the sidebar.
Traffic and access will be restricted. Expect delays during construction. Detour signs and flaggers will be present to direct and maintain traffic routes. Access to individual properties will be available. We encourage commuters to take alternative routes outside of construction work.
