Community Resource Expo

Colorado Springs Police Department is hosting a Community Resource Expo to provide our community members with support in navigating the variety of emotions surrounding this tragedy. The expo will be held at the UCCS Kevin W. O’Neill Cybersecurity & Research Center, 3650 North Nevada Avenue, on the following dates and times:

  • Monday, November 21, 2022, from 8:00AM to 7:00PM
  • Tuesday, November 22, 2022, from 8:00AM to 7:00PM
  • Wednesday, November 23, 2022, from 8:00AM to 7:00PM
  • Monday, November 28, 2022 from 8:00AM to 7:00PM
  • Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 8:00AM to 7:00PM

The expo will provide mental health resources, spiritual support, emotional support animals, childcare, emergency financial resources, LGBTQ+ support, meals, and other services.

Security for all attendees will be provided by uniformed Colorado Springs police officers. The event is designed to be an inclusive and safe space for all our community members to gather, grieve, and obtain emotional support.

‘Sacred Cloth’ pride flag to be displayed at Colorado Springs City Hall

A 25-foot historic pride flag will be displayed on the exterior of Colorado Springs City Hall, 107 N. Nevada Avenue. A ceremony is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23.

The flag, known as Section 93 of the Sea to Sea Flag, is on loan to Colorado Springs from the Sacred Cloth Project as a gesture of love, solidarity and healing in the wake of the Club Q shootings in which five people were killed and 18 were injured. Vehicles to be released

The Colorado Springs Police Department will release vehicles that are parked in the parking lot. They will contact the registered owners. If the vehicles belong to one of the victims, the police department will work with victim advocates to return vehicles to the family. Other people who have vehicles in the parking lot can contact police using the non-emergency number 719-444-7000.

Witness and Victim contact for FBI

Many more community members were present at Club Q during the shooting, who may be victims with no visible injuries. An example is a community member who ran out as the shooting occurred.

Police are asking anyone in the community who might have been a victim or has information about a potential victim, or might have seen something, has information about this incident, to contact the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) by calling1-800-CALL-FBI (or 1-800-225-5324).

Return of Property

CSPD completed the investigation at the scene of Club Q and released the building back to the owners on Friday, November 25.

Starting Tuesday, November 29 at 8am, CSPD will be returning personal property left at Club Q by patrons. This return of personal property to its owners will be done at the Resource Expo located at 3650 N. Nevada Avenue from 8am – 7pm. If a community member can’t make it to the Resource Expo on Tuesday, they can contact CSPD at our non-emergency number of 719-444-7000 and a detective will call them back later this week.

  • Providers offering therapy for those impacted. This list is being updated regularly by providers
  • Colorado Crisis Services 1-844-493-8255, or text “TALK” to 38255 This hotline will connect you to a crisis counselor or trained professional. The staffer will assess risk and determine if a mobile response is necessary.

What we know

The shooting took place at Club Q in Colorado Springs (3430 North Academy). Victims are being treated at both UC Health Memorial and Penrose hospitals. The names of the victims are not being released until their families are notified.

The suspect has been identified as 22-year-old Anderson Lee Aldrich, who was also injured. He remains in custody at a local hospital, so a photograph is not available at this time.

Multiple firearms were found at the scene. Law enforcement is still working to identify who the firearms belonged to. The suspect used a long rifle during the shooting.

Kelly Loving’s sister, Tiffany, shared this statement: “My condolences go out to all the families who lost someone in this tragic event, and to everyone struggling to be accepted in this world. My sister was a good person. She was loving and caring and sweet. Everyone loved her.”

    Number of people injured or killed

    As of November 28, 2022, at 2 p.m. below are the numbers of victims (it does not include the suspect):

    • 5 deceased community members.
    • 17 community members who are injured because of a gunshot wound.
    • 5 community members who were injured, but not because of a gunshot wound.
    • 12 community members who were a victim with no visible injuries.

    “I want to express my deepest condolences to those families who have lost a loved one and those who were injured in this terribly sad and tragic shooting. I want every citizen in our city to know the men and women of the Colorado Springs Police Department stand with you during this tragedy.
